Cody has been appointed as the Training Officer for The Boys’ Brigade in Western Australia. This is a significant role, as the Training Officer is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of training programs for both leaders and the boys in the organization.

Role of the Training Officer:

In general, the Training Officer within The Boys’ Brigade will:

  1. Develop Training Programs: Design and implement a range of training programs for leaders. Providing tools and skills to effectively lead and guide the boys. This include leadership development, child safety, mentoring skills, and Bible-based teaching.
  2. Leader Support: Provide ongoing support to leaders at all levels. Providing resources, advice, and practical tips on how to run activities, handle challenges, and inspire the boys.
  3. Mentoring and Engagement: Mentorship is a core aspect of the Boys’ Brigade. The training officer plays a key role in fostering this culture. Pairing young leaders with experienced mentors to guide their development.
  4. Collaborate with Churches and Communities: The Boys’ Brigade operates in collaboration with local churches and community groups. The Training Officer work closely with these partners to ensure that the programs are effectively reaching and engaging local boys and their families.
  5. Administer Training Courses: There are more formal aspects of the role, organizing and running training workshops and camps to help young leaders gain practical skills they can apply in their roles.
